Art of Venice
This is a class for those who want to deepen their knowledge of the most important characteristics of Venetian art and architecture. From Titian to Tintoretto, from Sansovino to Palladio, this lesson will also include a visit to the nearby Frari church. This is interactive learning - of both Italian language and Venetian Art - at its best and most entertaining!

History of Venice
When and how was Venice born? Why is it the way it is? Who brought its glorious history to an abrupt end? This is an introduction to the most significant events in the history of the Venetian Empire, 697-1797 AD. Through some listenings, readings and videos we will take you to understand better the origins, the development and the glory of the old Serenissima Republic until its fall at Napoleon’s hands

Italian Opera
Il Teatro La Fenice, is one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world. Many important operas - such as Verdi’s Il Rigoletto e La Traviata - had their premiere here. During this class, we will first introduce you to opera terminology and expressions. Secondly, we will listen to some of the most classic “arie” of the Italian repertoire, analysing differences and similarities between their language and contemporary Italian.

Contemporary Affairs and Politics
Let’s try and get serious about Italian politics, shall we? Do you think it is impossible? Well, during this class we will introduce you to the most important political institutions, characters and parties of the Italian Republic. We will read and analyse articles form national newspapers covering the politics of the day and from here we will take inspiration for a group discussion.
