DECEMBER 09 – Natale Veneziano!

Do you still have some holidays left before the end of 2009? Then come along and enjoy Christmas in Venice!

The Venice Italian School is offering a special “last minute” 15% discount for our morning classes, with an added bonus of cheaper accommodation fees as hotels try to fill the remaining places!

What do we offer? First class, experienced Italian teaching in a professional-yet-friendly environment with loads of interactive learning activities.

In the afternoon, you can choose from our wide range of cultural activities: from classes on Venetian history, myths and legends, to “social” activities such as wine tasting tours of Venetian “osterie”, a unique “Christmas cooking” lesson and, if you dare to face the chilly weather, rowing a real gondola on the Venetian Lagoon!

Especially for December, we are organising typical “Christmas walks” where we will take you around a Venice full of special Christmas markets for food and crafts; or visiting Venetian churches especially decorated for Christmas.

Finally, on Friday the 18th, we are organising a Venetian Christmas Party with our family and friends, fancy joining us?

JANUARY 2010 - The big chill...warmed up!

Warm up your winter with a learning holiday in the beating heart of Venice!

Temperatures are low but we promise to keep you warm with a flame of interesting lessons and cultural and social activities.

Warm wine and roasted chestnuts; hot chocolate and Buranelli are essential tools against the cold weather outside. Plus, we will take you to the Rialto Market to buy all fruits and vegetables of the season and we will cook them with you in a very special “winter cooking lesson”!  

And here’s a hot tip: this is the cheapest time to visit the city! Accommodation fees are low as restaurateurs try to attract visitors to their places...and we can find you some great deals in extremely nice places.  

Finally, this is also the month with the least tourists; an ideal opportunity to have the city to yourself, experience its glamour and unique mystery, all with your own local guide  - you will love it!

FEBRUARY 2010: Carnevale di Venezia!

If you want to experience “prohibited and excessive” Venice as it once was, now is the time! Music and people everywhere: masks, parties, celebration and mystery envelopes the entire city.

Unfortunately, Carnival has also become a “business” and it is often used as an excuse to squeeze more money out of tourists. But our offer allows you to celebrate Carnival in true Venetian style, including “special” lessons on the Carnival, its traditions, myths and legends; we will study together its most popular masks and we will take you to a laboratory of local craftsmen where masks are still handmade in front of you.

Finally we will go to a real Carnival party to practice your Italian with local “masks”!

This offer is only valid from Monday the 8th to Tuesday the 16th of February. After “Fat-Tuesday” Carnival is over, but you still have a great choice amongst our fantastic range of “social” activities and special lessons.
